We started Kaylee's Island of Misfit Dogs in memory of Kaylee Lane. We Started off fostering that led to rescuing. Kaylee was an energetic, charismatic and she loved all animals. She was only 15 when she passed from her injuries sustained from a car accident.

Our mission is to protect and advocate for companion animals in need, and to build a humane community that promotes compassion and seeks to strengthen the human-animal bond.

Banshee is a tiny siren of chaos, powered by dramatic vocals and zero indoor voice. She sings her feelings, narrates your movements, and announces every invisible threat like it’s breaking news. Beneath the theatrics, she’s a total sweetheart who lives for love, attention, and a perfectly timed cuddle.

Mr. E was found wandering in Stewart County, and a good Samaritan took him in while searching for his family. When no one came forward, he was brought to Sagley’s Biker Bully Farm, and we welcomed him in. Now he’s the biggest lap dog around—sweet, loyal, and full of love.

Valkyrie once had a wonderful life filled with love, but tragedy struck when her dad passed away. She went to live with one of his most trusted friends, but struggled to get along with the other dogs there. We took her in so she could live out her beautiful life surrounded by love and peace.

Meet Bella, our spirited, loyal, and endlessly resilient girl. Bella was adopted from a shelter in Florida then abandoned. She was transported back, only to face heartbreak again when her second adoption fell through. That’s when we stepped in and five years later, she’s still with us. And we’re so lucky.
She’s full of energy, sweetness, and the kind of love that comes from knowing what it feels like to be left behind. Bella had a cancer scare that led to surgery and she fought like the warrior

Sonny, the sunshine in our senior sanctuary. When Sonny’s owner passed away, no one knew for days. By the time help arrived, Sonny was scared and alone. He found his way to another rescue where he spent the next 7 years waiting, hoping. Now 9 years old, Sonny has finally found a place to call home here. He doesn’t dwell on the past. Instead, he prances through the yard like he owns it, nose to the sky, tail wagging with joy. He loves to sniff the air like it holds secrets meant just for him

Meet Sheeba — a 13-year-old queen with a touch of sass and a love for the finer things in life. She was dropped off at our local Animal Control like yesterday’s news. Her "crime"? She didn’t like the new puppy. After 13 years of loyalty, she was surrendered.
But here, we don’t see a grumpy senior we see a girl who knows her worth.
Sheeba now lives her best life: snuggled in soft blankets, enjoying gourmet meals (okay, kibble, but don’t tell her that), and lounging poolside like the diva she is.
